Bottlebrush Tree tag - Chris
Hi everyone, Chris here today with a tag I've made using stamps from the gorgeous Bottlebrush Tree stamp set. As ever an amazingly versatile set that gives so many options and is testament to Kim's incredibly clever designs.
I've gone for a bit of a chalkboard effect with black and white and just a hint of colour. I've stamped the background of the black tag with white ink using both of the snowflake and both of the star stamps in the set and then I've also stamped some of the larger snowflake again in embossing ink and embossed with detail white enamel.
I've added white lace to the bottom of the tag and then edged my die cut frame with white ink and mounted with dimension tape. The centre panel uses the bottlebrush tree with bauble spaces and I've again embossed with white powder. I stamped the stem with the smaller of the two and stamped twice to create more of a tree trunk effect, I also used an embossing ink pen to make the snowy base for the tree to stand on and again embossed in white. The little wood stars are embossed with white powder and I've added dots with the embossing pen around the tree and sprinkled with white and with Shabby white powder.
I coloured in the tree baubles with red and gree pencils as they will colour over the black card. I edged everything with white ink smudging it a bit to give the chalk effect The little lable die cut at the top is stamped with the Merry Christmas sentiment from the set so really there is everything in this set to make all the Christmas cards and tags you could need.
I love the effect of the tree in white embossing powder, I'll definitely be doing that again and perhaps I'll make a matching card for this tag.
Hope you have some time to create today and back soon!
