Good Morning, so happy you could join us for our first day of Introductions...
Today it's the turn of MDF Portrait Media Blanks Wavy Central Parting,
I know it's quite a mouthful.
So, the idea is the portrait is broken into layers, but instead of having to draw them they are simply painted and adhered together to create a dimensional mixed media portrait.
This is the technical bit lol,
as I wanted to show how the layers would go together. Notice there are two top choices, the v-neck or the crew neck, whichever is used on the front the other will be need to be on the back.
They coordinate with the doll face mini and female face mini stamp sets, but you are free to draw any face on yours as your creative heart desires. There are instructions and a face template to help with lining up and facial proportions. I have designed them so they can stand freely or be hung on the wall with the pre cut hanging hole. The only addition you will need to add to the kit is adhesive, any good pva will work and of course your art supplies.
- MDF Portrait Media Blanks Wavy Central Parting kit will be available for purchase on Fri 17th June.
- The kit will retail at £7.99
- The wavy central parting kit has a total of ten pre-cut pieces, they have been designed to have some adjustment whether you want to give your portrait a longer neck or flip the hair over for a different look. The MDF is 3mm thick with the plinth/stand at 6mm, your complete portrait will stand under 8" tall.
Now, onto my sample...
I've painted mine in acrylic paints and used the female face mini for her features. Her v-neck top has had the houndstooth pattern stamped on from this set. I have her free standing on a black plinth.
I also painted the back, you can of course leave this or paint it a solid colour if your portrait was hanging on a wall, as no one would see it. I have thoroughly enjoyed making these substrates, as I know the team have...
Please stop by the lovely
to see her gorgeous dimensional art!
Thank you very much for stopping by,
I hope you will return tomorrow to see another Dimensional mixed media portrait.
Enjoy a wonderfully creative day!
