Good morning, thank you for stopping by.
We thought we would treat you to another day of inspiration with the introductions from yesterday's Rabbit hole frame and the eye templates, the eye template seem to be very well received thank you.
So today it's the turn of the Rose Edge frame
Like the rabbit hole frame this also co-ordinates well with the previously released Alice collection, but certainly isn't exclusive to that theme, the idea is to paint your picture on the back piece and partly frame it with the next layer. This design has a few more layers, with the roses bringing it up to four layers in places.
here's a close up of the etch lines, I also wanted to point out the roses match the rose layers stamp set, and there are a few extra hearts to adorn your frame.
- Rose Edge MDF Layered Frame kit will be available to purchase on Sat 2nd June.
- The kit will retail for £9.99
- There are sixteen pieces in this kit, including two hanging discs and two spacer discs to help make the picture float from the wall when hanging.
- The MDF is 3mm thick, and is approximately 29cm(11 1/2") tall.
Now onto my project
Firstly I painted the blank substrate in a wood effect using a sponge and acrylic paints. I thought my coloured pencil would work well on this but it's turned out very textured, shall we pretend that was my intention?
I did of course use the eye template to help stamp her eyes, fab!
I used my gelli plate to add colour and texture to my roses, and edged them in a little copper wax. The hearts I have heat embossed with some gold, as I did with her crown.
Here's the back of my finished picture, it's certainly possible that I may have practised my wood effect on the back first...(which is why it's finished looking)
