Introducing ~ Rose Edge MDF Layered Frame, with the Queen of Hearts.

Good morning, thank you for stopping by.
We thought we would treat you to another day of inspiration with the introductions from yesterday's Rabbit hole frame and the eye templates, the eye template seem to be very well received thank you.

So today it's the turn of the Rose Edge frame
Like the rabbit hole frame this also co-ordinates well with the previously released Alice collection, but certainly isn't exclusive to that theme, the idea is to paint your picture on the back piece and partly frame it with the next layer. This design has a few more layers, with the roses bringing it up to four layers in places.
here's a close up of the etch lines, I also wanted to point out the roses match the rose layers stamp set, and there are a few extra hearts to adorn your frame.

The Details:
  • Rose Edge MDF Layered Frame kit will be available to purchase on Sat 2nd June.
  • The kit will retail for £9.99
  • There are sixteen pieces in this kit, including two hanging discs and two spacer discs to help make the picture float from the wall when hanging.
  • The MDF is 3mm thick, and is approximately 29cm(11 1/2") tall.

Now onto my project

Firstly I painted the blank substrate in a wood effect using a sponge and acrylic paints. I thought my coloured pencil would work well on this but it's turned out very textured, shall we pretend that was my intention?
I did of course use the eye template to help stamp her eyes, fab!

I used my gelli plate to add colour and texture to my roses, and edged them in a little copper wax. The hearts I have heat embossed with some gold, as I did with her crown.
Here's the back of my finished picture, it's certainly possible that I may have practised my wood effect on the back first...(which is why it's finished looking)

Now it's time to head over for even more stunning projects from our very talented...

Thank you so very much for stopping by and your continued support.

Introducing ~ Rabbit Hole MDF Layered Frame and Eye Template

Good Morning, so happy you could join us for our first day of Introductions...
I hope you are enjoying a lovely half term, although the weather has other ideas, it might be nice to have a few creative days crafting of course(any excuse)

I thought I would start on the eye templates...

These are already extremely useful for me, I have had bits of post it note masks hanging round my craft space for too long, and I felt it filled a great need for people when using the face stamp sets. They are laser cut mylar, meaning they will be reused again and again, simply wipe clean and save for your next project. They are available in Standard and Mini to co-ordinate perfectly with the face stamps available. They also come with instructions included.

The Details:
  • Mixed Media Eye Templates will be available for purchase on Sat 2nd June.
  • They will sell individually, they will retail at £0.50.
  • There are sufficient templates to match the stamp set you wish to coordinate with, it includes the eye piece and the outer mask piece too.

A few steps to help explain the idea, the eye templates will come as a pair and you might want to trim them apart. I use a little washi tape to secure to my artwork. As a guide you will see the stamped eye in your masked area, this should help with any halo that the mylar might produce.

Next is this Rabbit Hole MDF Layered Frame kit,

I wanted to expand on the ornate frame idea with a added dimensional element. These co-ordinate well with the previously released Alice collection, but certainly isn't exclusive to that theme, the idea is to paint your picture on the back piece and frame it with the next layer.

The Details:
  • Rabbit Hole MDF Layered Frame kit will be available to purchase on Sat 2nd June.
  • The kit will retail for £9.99
  • There are six pieces in this kit, including two hanging discs and two spacer discs to help make the picture float from the wall when hanging.
  • The MDF is 3mm thick, and is approximately 29cm(11 1/2") round.

Now onto my sample

June Sneak Peek Time...

We have a few new goodies planned to release at the end of this month, beginning of June.
Yay, it's has been too long since our last, these new items coordinate very well with the Alice collection release in February!

Here are a few sneak peeks of what's to come!
This is one of the most useful templates... it helps cut down all those post it note masks I have stuck all over my stamp sets, desk top, cutting mat, storage boxes, apron, shoes and even the floor. They just get everywhere, than I have to stamp and cut another, this version however is pre-cut and has a lot more longevity.

These next three are an idea based from the popular mdf ornate frame, each has a theme although not necessarily for that exact use, it's for art after all. They each have a dimensional layer to give that something special to your artwork.
This one is based on looking up out of the rabbit hole, seeing Alice or any character peeking down.
The is a rose edged frame, perfect for the lovely Queen of Hearts, if you wanted.
And this suits the Hatter pretty well, with the tea cup and the pocket watch just about to be dunked in.

We couldn't resist some new stencils so here's some classic designs great for backgrounds and mixed media fun.
We have some stripes, longer than usual for those larger projects,
Some checks, just because.
And this special two step stencil, which has a pattern with incorporated gear design.

Wait until you see all the possibilities.
Thanks for visiting, pop by tomorrow for the teams introductions.

Enjoy a wonderfully creative day!
