Knit A Landscape

Good morning, hope you're having a wonderful Friday and planning a great weekend ahead.
Did you love Chris's card Tuesday? Her wonderful use of stamps and the cut strip at the bottom was genius. Also, the fabulous range of colours would make everyone smile!

Thought I would stop by with a little card I made the other day.
To say that I've probably imagined everything being knitted at some point after designing the DesignA Knit stamp set is an understatement.
And so here's a little scene all knitted in Autumnal colours.
My background starts with using the Cumulus Background, inking and kissing into the Ribbed Background.
The fields are two cut circles, stamped with different knit. I created the tree by making some knit card mixing some Autumnal colours, stamping the tree top and trimming to get a dimensional look.  I've added a knitted cloud and a couple of birds from the High in the Sky set... Until I wrote my post did I realise just how many stamps I used on this card LOL.

Hope your inspired to make something unusual with your stamps!

High in the sky - Chris

Hi everyone! Chris here today with a card using the fabulous High in the sky stamp set! I used the solid sun ray stamp, solid circle and sentiment stamps with distress inks in a rainbow of colours to create my semi circle of stamping.

To create the effect I picked two or three colours in similar tone then stamped them by lining up the stamp at the top and pointing it towards the middle. I cut off the bottom portion of the stamping and flipped it to create the small bottom strip. I used the sentiment stamps to create a collage effect strip and the solid circle stamp to create the sun. I doodled and filled in the Sun Shine letters with bright gel pens.

Hope you have some time to be creative today!

Spooky Blog Hop Winner...

The winner is....

True Random Number Generator  4Powered by RANDOM.ORG

Please email me to receive your prize
Thank you so much to everyone who hopped by I appreciate your support and hoped you loved the projects...

Now onto a picture using the Dillon with Batwings digi stamp...

I started by printing the image onto my usual cardstock and decided I would try printing it again onto frisket film, turned out PERFECT I am so pleased, so after fussy cutting I now have the best mask to experiment and practice some of my airbrushing skills!
SO this is the result, I coloured Dillon in first using my copics, I thought he could do with funky hair might be the only time he'll have hair like it... (we will see I'm sure)LOL! He told me himself he had to have black wings, but I layered a hint of pink over the grey.
I used the torn edges of scrap paper as a mask to get the background layers, I actually stamped the trunk from my tree set in black ink then lined the torn paper to get the distant hill. My airbrushing did spit a little under the edges, but never mind. The circling birds are from my High in the Sky set. I haven't made this into a card instead I've layered it on two matts of black cardstock and added an easel to the back so it can stand up.

Also... only ten more Facebook friends until the 100 Facebook Candy Prize! Thank you!
I hope you have a wonderfully creative weekend

Cumulus Background
Well who doesn't love a cloudy background stamp, I've designed this so you can stamp a continuous image, across a card or scrapbook page.

Here I've stamped the image twice to show how it joins up, you could dab off some of the ink from the edges to lose the slight overlap, so it won't be so dark. It has so many possibilities, when stamping the clouds below I would suggest moving the stamp to the left or right of your first stamping so the join will be staggered.

The Details:

  • Cumulus Background will be available for purchase on September 13th.
  • It will retail for £9.00
  • I designed this background stamp with a pattern repeat... all four edges will form continuous stamping possibilities.

Now onto a sample...
For this image I stamped my tree first, masked it with frisket film and stamped the cumulus background. I've added some grass by sponging the ink and stamping the grass pieces from the set.
To get the graduating colours I started with the lightest at the bottom, first yellow, then the central area with orange and finally red for the top. I spritzed a smidgen of water to blend the colours a little.

High in the Sky
High in the Sky co-ordinates with Cumulus Background but it's more of a building set,  The clouds have co-ordinating shadows which really helps to give definition. There are a few sentiments to build up or stamp individually.

The Details:
  • High in the Sky will be available for purchase on September 13th.
  • It will retail for £9.
  • High in the Sky contains a total of 22 images, there are 3 clouds, each with outline and shadows to create various combinations. The set also includes Rain, with droplets and a couple of splashes, flying birds, a sun, beams/rays. A rainbow builder and the sentiments can be paired up and inked in different colours.
This is the tip sheet to help with building the different images. I will also have an svg file available to help cut the clouds, rainbow and sentiments.

The Rainbow...
I've always wanted a rainbow I can actually stamp the individual colours and came up with this style that works pretty well.
Here's a few steps to show how the rainbow could be constructed. I've cut the shape using the svg file it will be a five striped rainbow. I started on the outside with the blue.
Next I stamped the green, it just sits beside the blue I could have stamped it a little lower but I knew the bottom will be covered by a cloud.
Then the yellow...
Then the orange... you get the idea, I didn't add enough ink to the orange but I can live with that!
So lastly the red, you could stamp smaller rainbows with three colours or larger with seven colours the option is up to you.

The Clouds...
The large cloud which is about 1.5" tall, I stamped the outline in grey and co-ordinating shadows in the same ink, which really helps to give dimension.
Here's the clouds are stamped in blue, you can have any colour cloud your inks will allow.
This is where one sentiment can sit on the 'sun' and 'shine' sentiment when together. There's a cut file for those too!
My card includes the cumulus background in a pale blue ink, I've added a few birds in the sky.
For the clouds I chose to only stamp the shadow I quite like that look too. The rainbow is the sample I stepped earlier just tucked in behind the large cloud.

Well I hope your day will be filled with SunShine!
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you are enjoying the introductions, I wanted to post his earlier today but my cold interfered!

September Sneak Peek Day!

Hello and good morning, wow September arrived so suddenly...

I have a peek for you, the September release is coming, a bit later then usual but I wanted a spooky blog hop for Friday the thirteenth very fitting lol!

So, lets get started showing you what we have in store...
This is a sky stamp, called Cumulus Background the clouds and sky are textured, the image has been designed to stamp continuously. Imagine sunsets, light skies, cloudy skies, or dark stormy clouds. It will compliment so many backgrounds on cards or scrapbooking.
This sneek is High in the Sky it co-ordinates with Cumulus Background but it's more of a building set, I've always wanted a rainbow I can actually stamp the individual colours and came up with this style that works pretty well. The clouds have co-ordinating shadows which really helps to give definition. There are a few sentiments to build up or stamp individually. I've also included a sun, beams, bird in flight, rain and droplets.

Another MayLeeDee to the collection, she is dressed for the Halloween season in all her witchily finery. She holds her trusted cat and under her arm the best spell book ever!

New to the character collection is Dillon, inspired by my gorgeous son, I realised while drawing these characters how lucky I am to have stunning models to work with LOL! Dillon is dressed here with bat wings, obviously wants to go trick or treating with his sister, he has his pumpkin ready for treats.

Here's Dillon again with slight variations he has dragon wings and a bit of magic, Dillon really liked this one. These will be digital stamps and as always with the faint outline version included.

I hope you liked the sneak peeks and are looking forward to the samples over the next couple of days.

Please join us on Friday 13th for a small spooky blog hop and a few prizes.

Thanks for stopping by
Have a wonderfully creative Day

MayLeeDee Kimono Canvas - Chris

Hi everyone, hope you've had a good start to the week. I'm here today with a canvas that I've created with the beautiful MayLeeDee Kimono with sentiment stamp set. Difficult to put this stamp down as there are so many ways of colouring her, so many different hair colours to try and many substrates to colour her on and put her on. She's going to keep me busy!

I first painted my canvas with acrylic paints in blues, greens a bit of pink, white and yellow to make a sky background, blossom tree mid ground and grassy foreground. I stamped MayLeeDee onto book paper, cut her out and then glued her onto the canvas using DecoArt DecoPage which I love as it keeps the image nice and flat, no bubbling up when it's dry which is great for thin paper such as this.

I continued by colouring with watercolours which kept a nice vibrancy over the DecoPage which acts as a sealer. I finished off with some doodling of the trees and trunks, some dots of paint and pens for flowers, some stardust stickles glitter glue and some pearl pen pearls.

Thanks for stopping by today, hope you have a creative week!
